چکیده

The flowers, roots and stems of Cirsium species are used as a folk remedy in Anatolia. In order to evaluate antioxidant activity of Cirsium hypoleucum which is an endemic plant, superoxide radical (hypoxanthine-xanthine oxidase system) and free radical scavenging activities (DPPH) using in vitro electron spin resonance (ESR) spectrometry of the different extracts, fractions and compounds obtained by Bioassay Guided Fractionation (BAGF) technique were studied. The bioassay guided fractionation of methanol extract led to the isolation flavonoid 1 and 2 from n–butanol fr. The structures of these compounds were elucidated using UV, IR, MS, Hand C-NMR techniques as quercetin-3-O-rutinoside (rutin) (1) and kaempferol-3-O-rutinoside (nicotiflorin) (2). Flavonoid 1 showed more potent antioxidant activity than flavonoid 2.

Acylated flavonol glycosides from the flower of Inula britannica.

Three new acylated flavonol glycosides, patuletin 7-O-(6' '-isobutyryl)glucoside (1), patuletin 7-O-[6' '-(2-methylbutyryl)]glucoside (2), and patuletin 7-O-(6' '-isovaleryl)glucoside (3), were isolated from the n-BuOH extract of Inula britannica flowers by bioassay-guided fractionation, together with other known flavonoids. The structures were elucidated by 1D and 2D NMR, FABMS, and other spec...

Flavonol acylglycosides from flower of Albizia julibrissin and their inhibitory effects on lipid accumulation in 3T3-L1 cells.

Obesity is a serious health problem worldwide. We investigated the anti-obesity effect of the flower of Albizia julibrissin DURAZZ. (Leguminosae). A 90% EtOH extract of the flower inhibited adipogenesis in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes, as well as the activity of glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPDH) activity. New flavonol acylglycosides (1-4) and eighteen known compounds (5-22) were isolated by bio...

A New Kaempferol Glycoside with Antioxidant Activity from Chenopodium ambrosioides Growing in Egypt

The current study aimed to identify the chemical constituents of Chenopodium ambrosioides (Linn.), and the assessment of the in vitro antioxidant activity of the different extracts and pure isolates. Methods: The antioxidant activity was estimated via free radical scavenging and phosphomolybdenum assays. Structure elucidation of pure compounds was achieved via UV, IR, 1H & 13C-NMR, 1H-1H COSY, ...

Bioassay-Guided Isolation and Antioxidant Evaluation of Flavonoid Compound from Aerial Parts of Lippia nodiflora L.

The present study was designed to identify the DPPH (2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) free-radical scavenging constituents from methanol extract of L. nodiflora using bioassay-guided fractionation. The ethyl acetate fraction (EAF) revealed a strong antioxidant activity, compared to other fractions through in vitro DPPH radical-scavenging assay. The repeated fractionation of active EAF by silica ...
